How it started
I bought my first investment property at 26 — a two-bedroom unit in Brisbane while I was living and working in Melbourne. I had no mentor, no property coach, and no family background in real estate. I figured it out through trial and error, a lot of research, and more than a few conversations with accountants and mortgage brokers who spoke in jargon I had to Google afterwards.
Nobody was giving young Australians the straight story about property investing. Most content was either too basic ("save a deposit!") or written by someone who profits from what you do next. I wanted something honest, practical, and built from direct experience.
This site is what I wish had existed when I was starting out.
What this site is
BrickByBrick is an independent property investment resource for young Australians. Everything here is written from direct experience — real numbers, real decisions, real outcomes. Two investment properties and counting.
No courses to sell you. No seminars. No affiliate products buried in fake "reviews." When I recommend a tool or calculator, it's because I actually use it.
